Ski touring in Canada

Ski touring with a difference...

When you think of Canada, not only the endless expanses of this country come to mind, but your thoughts immediately get lost in the magnificent mountain landscape, which in winter wraps itself in a thick blanket of the finest powder snow.

Ski touring in Western Canada, a dream many of us dream. Every winter I am privileged to work as a mountain guide in this deep snow landscape and to explore new areas again and again.

Also in Canada, ski touring has attracted more and more mountaineers in the last years. Nevertheless, the number of ski mountaineers who roam the almost limitless expanse with their skins on is very low compared to Europe.

But it's not just untracked slopes and high peaks that captivate ski mountaineers, but also long, challenging traverses. In British Columbia, I discovered a traverse known as the Canadian Haute Route. It leads over several large glaciers and touches every now and then a relatively easy to climb 3000m. Together with my friend Corin, a true Canadian and mountain guide, I would like to lead a small group of ski mountaineers through a pristine landscape to make a trail together through the finest Canadian powder snow!
